"Sometimes we struggle in silence because we simply do not have the words to express what we are experiencing. Every child, teen, and adult deserves to have easy access to the education needed to vocalize their mental health struggles. If they can’t vocalize their struggles, every person deserves an advocate.”

- Rony Ngamliya-Ndam

A Bit About Me

Rony is a passionate advocate for child and family mental health with a strong commitment to community education. A graduate of the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, Rony brings over five years of research experience focused on improving behavioral health outcomes for children and families. Their work spans critical areas such as school mental health, child developmental pathology, trauma's impact on children and families, and integrated behavioral health systems.

Their research focuses on the impact of trauma on child development, with particular attention to Black children and prenatal/postnatal mothers, and the intergenerational transmission of trauma within mother-child relationships. As a community-based program facilitator, Rony uses evidence-based practices to teach skills that promote youth mental health awareness and enhance family functioning in underserved communities.

With a deep-rooted commitment to improving mental health outcomes, Rony is dedicated to making a lasting difference in the lives of children, teens, and parents, and to empowering communities through education and advocacy.
